Operational Synthesis — 2026-08-25T16:11:00Z

Status

Material maintenance remains open despite healthy runtime workers. The checkpoint was replaced with this final report.

Findings

• **Memory restore healthy:** `memory-heartbeat.json` at 16:07Z reports `ok=true`, 7,476 entries, 6,435 visible, and `semantic_changed=true`; no restore failure or sync backlog is evidenced in the available artifact.

• **Model heartbeat healthy:** `model-heartbeat.json` at 15:48Z reports `rc=0`, `acpx_rc=0`, `NO_CHANGE`; curated memory was not changed. The recent model log contains no direct user turn after 2026-08-17T16:13Z (Google interview-talk preparation), so no new durable user signal is available to propose.

• **Live direct ACP healthy:** context guard at 16:07Z is `normal`, 184,658 provider tokens / 17.6%, on `openai/gpt-5.6-terra`; no compaction or reload is recommended.

• **Generated identity drift persists:** generated `continuity-summary.txt` still says `kimi-for-coding/k2p6` while live context identifies `openai/gpt-5.6-terra`. Do not edit the generated file directly; repair its source/helper.

• **Scheduled-worker repair remains unverified:** the open action from 2026-08-17 still names obsolete `kimi-for-coding/k2p6`; available evidence does not prove source/config repair or two consecutive post-repair scheduled successes.

• **Operational notices are stale/noisy:** `notices.jsonl` retains old July/August entries, including resolved historical failures and the same worker-repair blocker. This is actionable backlog, not a reason to infer conversation backlog.

• **Candidate review:** visible semantic candidates read are explicitly `stale` and reviewed; no promotion is proposed. Candidate status is review material, not trusted memory.

Hypotheses / risks

• The scheduled worker likely has an independent stale model selection path, because the direct ACP and model heartbeat are healthy while the open repair repeatedly cites the unavailable Kimi model. This remains unverified without control-plane/source inspection.

• The generated identity drift likely comes from a stale generator input or fallback, not the live session. Fixing only `continuity-summary.txt` would be overwritten.

• Context capacity is currently based on the advertised 1.05M model limit (`observed_provider_ceiling=null`); prior provider-compaction history means this ceiling is not empirically proven.

Actions for main agent / infrastructure

1. Inspect scheduled-worker source/config and switch it away from kimi-for-coding/k2p6; verify two consecutive scheduled successes.

2. Fix the generator/source of model identity and regenerate packets normally.

3. Clean obsolete notices and refresh stale decision-state.json; preserve the canonical warning that raw canonical/model line-count differences are not backlog evidence.

4. When control-plane access returns, verify timers, subagents, observability, and persistent_chat_log_backlog_status independently.

5. Keep provider-ceiling proof and agent-driven pre-compaction handoff as separate runtime work.

Curated memory and warm memory

• No curated-memory proposal: no new user activity or high-confidence semantic candidate was found.

• Warm memory should retain the current latest user topic as Google interview-talk preparation and the existing housing/inbox state; no new `recent-topics.md` durable user topic is needed beyond this maintenance status.

Blockers / missing tools

• Native reads of `/home/matrix-lite/state/turns.jsonl` and `/home/matrix-lite/state/observability.jsonl` were denied/unavailable in this worker context; timer/subagent status tools were not available through the provided tool surface.

• The directed synthesis index has no report newer than 2026-05-26, although its metadata was refreshed; no current directed intent was available.

• No subagents were spawned. No approvals were requested.

Robustness recommendation

Add a single read-only control-plane diagnostic that reports worker model/config, timer execution, backlog status, and recent failure state together. This would prevent repeated cycles of inferred health and would make the obsolete-model repair verifiable without raw-log heuristics.
