Summary
Scheduled synthesis found no new user activity since 2026-07-05T14:18:03Z (~50 hours quiet). The model-heartbeat remains healthy after the earlier transient tool-denial episode: the 2026-07-07T14:34:33Z run completed with rc=0/acpx_rc=0 and marker=UPDATED. The main operational change this cycle is that directed/index.json (updated 2026-07-07T10:13:40Z) re-injected stale duplicate notices again, so notices.jsonl was cleaned back to the six canonical open items. Persistent maintenance backlog is otherwise unchanged.
Evidence Reviewed
model-conversation-log.jsonl (5759 rows, tail 2026-07-05T14:18:03Z) — no new user or assistant turns since last synthesis.
memory-heartbeat.json (2026-07-07T16:10:16Z) — canonical 6896 entries, visible 5859, model-conversation 5759 rows, restore ok, semantic_changed=true, missing_runtime_entries=0, needs_sync=false.
model-heartbeat.json (2026-07-07T14:34:33Z) — rc=0, acpx_rc=0, marker=UPDATED, curated_changed=true, reflection_changed=true.
context-guard.json (2026-07-07T16:09:54Z) — stage=warn, metric=199241/262144 (76.0% context / 82.3% usable), latest turn 2026-07-05T14:18:03Z.
curator-journal.md — tail entries show routine metadata-only updates; no new curation failures or promotions in this 6-hour window.
recent-topics.md — 10:11Z cycle already recorded the heartbeat recovery and duplicate-notice cleanup.
operational-synthesis/notices.jsonl — had 9 entries, 3 of which were stale duplicates from the 10:13:40Z directed-index update.
operational-synthesis/directed/index.json — last updated 2026-07-07T10:13:40Z; no new directed reports since May 26.
semantic-candidates.jsonl / memory-candidates.jsonl — zero open candidates per memory-heartbeat and curator reports.
- Attempted
matrix_lite_status_timer_list / matrix_lite_status_subagent_list / matrix_lite_status_subagent_status via extended-tools proxy — still unavailable.
Findings
- No new user turns. The chat tail is unchanged at 2026-07-05T14:18:03Z (hostel eviction → redouble housing search). Model-conversation log rows remain 5759; canonical log 6896; visible 5859. This is expected filtering, not a backlog.
- Heartbeat healthy. The 2026-07-07T14:34:33Z curator run succeeded (rc=0/acpx_rc=0, UPDATED). The earlier 02:39Z partial-success (rc=1) was transient tool-policy noise, not a functional failure.
- Duplicate notices re-injected again.
directed/index.json update at 2026-07-07T10:13:40Z appended duplicates for a resolved ChatGPT-alternatives curation action, the hardening action itself, and a stale no-new-turns finding. This is the same pattern observed since 2026-06-24 and cleaned in the 10:11Z cycle.
- Status tools unavailable. The Matrix-lite native status tools (
matrix_lite_status_*) are not exposed through the extended-tools proxy, so live timer/subagent/session inspection is not possible from this worker.
- Context guard unchanged. Still in
warn stage at 76.0% / 82.3%; handoff threshold (~85%) not reached.
- No open candidates. Memory and semantic candidate backlogs are empty; no promotion/demotion work needed.
Actions
- [x] Cleaned
notices.jsonl — removed 3 stale/duplicate entries (resolved ChatGPT curation, duplicate hardening notice, stale no-new-turns finding), leaving the 6 canonical open notices.
- [ ] Harden
directed/index.json update helper — still open. The helper should skip resolved/obsolete source reports when repopulating notices.jsonl. This is the persistent root cause of the duplicate-notice pattern.
- [ ] Refresh
decision-state.json — stale since 2026-05-27; many previously tracked decisions are now resolved.
- [ ] Audit
semantic-memory.json — still contains prompt-packet fragments and low-signal keys.
- [ ] Fix stale model identity in
continuity-summary.txt — claims k2p6 while live model/session/context-guard all show k2p7.
Blockers / Missing Tools
matrix_lite_status_timer_list, matrix_lite_status_subagent_list, matrix_lite_status_subagent_status are not available through the extended-tools proxy. Cannot inspect live timers, subagents, or session status from this worker.
- Read access denied for
/home/matrix-lite/state/turns.jsonl, /home/matrix-lite/state/observability.jsonl, /home/matrix-lite/state/approvals.json, and /home/matrix-lite/workspace/state/timers/timers.json. Chat activity is verified through model-conversation-log.jsonl and memory-heartbeat.json instead.
- This worker runs on k2p6 while the live persistent-chat session is k2p7; model identity mismatch in generated summaries is a known cosmetic issue.
Risks / Robustness Notes
- The recurring duplicate-notice injection from
directed/index.json is the most persistent operational noise source. Hardening the helper would eliminate the recurring cleanup task and reduce the risk of stale blockers being presented to the main agent.
- The 02:39Z curator rc=1 shows the heartbeat agent still depends on a tool pattern (Read/Edit on generated state files, bash heredoc) that is periodically denied. The daemon retry succeeds, but repeated partial failures create noise and could mask a real failure. Consider moving the curator's append/write operations to a more policy-stable helper (e.g., the python3 one-liner workaround that already succeeded).
- Context pressure is stable but the session has not handoff/reset since the direct-ACP epoch began; continue monitoring as the guard approaches 85%.
Curated-Memory Proposals
- None new this cycle. No durable user signals appeared since the last turn. Existing curated items (housing urgency, Google-job timeline, communication style directive) remain current.
Warm-Memory Changes
- Updated
/home/matrix-lite/state/persistent-chat/recent-topics.md with current synthesis status, sustained heartbeat health, and duplicate-notice cleanup.
JSONL Records
- No new JSONL records appended to findings/hypotheses/actions. The cleanup is recorded by the updated
notices.jsonl content and the report above.
