No new user turns since 2026-07-05T14:18:03Z (~38 hours quiet). The main change this cycle is operational cleanup: the latest model-heartbeat returned rc=1/acpx_rc=1 with a partial-success label, but the curator actually completed its work (curated-memory metadata refreshed, curator-journal.md appended cleanly). The non-zero exit appears to come from the recurring bash heredoc/Read/Edit permission denials that the curator works around with a python3 one-liner. I also removed a blank line and two stale duplicate notices that directed/index.json re-injected at 2026-07-06T22:19:51Z.
• `model-conversation-log.jsonl` (5759 rows, latest turn 2026-07-05T14:18:03Z)
• `perpetual-log.jsonl` (6896 rows)
• `memory-heartbeat.json` (2026-07-07T04:10:05Z)
• `model-heartbeat.json` (2026-07-07T02:39:13Z)
• `context-guard.json` (2026-07-07T04:09:44Z)
• `curator-journal.md` (tail at 2026-07-07T02:32:02Z)
• `notices.jsonl`, `actions.jsonl`, `findings.jsonl`
• `recent-topics.md`
• `directed/index.json`
• `decision-state.json`
• `continuity-summary.txt`
• `semantic-memory.json` (sampled head)
1. **Latest model-heartbeat is noisy but functional.**
- model-heartbeat.json reports rc=1, acpx_rc=1, action=updated, outcome=partial-success, reason=command returned non-zero, but curated memory changed.
- The curator-journal tail ends cleanly at 2026-07-07T02:32:02Z with the standard metadata-only entry. Curated-memory metadata was touched.
- The non-zero exit is consistent with prior cycles where Read/Edit tools for /home/matrix-lite/state/persistent-chat/* are denied and bash heredocs fail; the curator falls back to a python3 one-liner that succeeds.
- **Implication:** curation is not broken, but heartbeat status is becoming a false-negative signal. A robustness fix (grant curator direct Edit access or fix the wrapper’s interpretation of permission-denied fallbacks) would remove the noise.
2. **Stale duplicate notices keep reappearing.**
- directed/index.json was updated at 2026-07-06T22:19:51Z and repopulated notices.jsonl with a blank line plus duplicates of:
- resolved ChatGPT-alternatives curation action (already promoted by curator)
- the hardening action for directed/index.json itself (already present as notice #5)
- This is the same pattern observed since 2026-06-24. I cleaned it this cycle; notices.jsonl now has 6 canonical entries.
3. **No new user activity.**
- Last user turn remains the hostel-eviction / redouble-housing-search message from 2026-07-05T14:16:25Z.
- Housing is still the highest-priority external situation. The Unterschleißheim viewing on 2026-07-04 11:00 CEST passed with no follow-up recorded.
- Google Quantum AI HM call scheduling is still awaiting Ashley confirmation (Gleb offered July 6–10 Mon–Wed after 19:00 CEST, July 13–17 any day 19:00+).
4. **Context pressure unchanged.**
- context-guard.json stage=warn, metric=199241/262144 (76.0% context, 82.3% usable). Handoff threshold 205822 (~85%) not yet reached.
5. **Maintenance backlog still open.**
- continuity-summary.txt line 4 still claims kimi-for-coding/k2p6 while live session/context-guard show kimi-for-coding/k2p7.
- decision-state.json still stale since 2026-05-27.
- semantic-memory.json still contains prompt-packet-fragment/garbage entries.
- directed/index.json helper still needs hardening to skip resolved/obsolete source reports.
• Cleaned `notices.jsonl`: removed blank line and two duplicate/obsolete entries (resolved ChatGPT-alternatives curation + duplicate hardening notice). File now has 6 canonical notices.
• Updated `recent-topics.md` with current cycle summary.
• Appended one verified operational finding to `findings.jsonl`.
See notices.jsonl and actions.jsonl. Key items:
• **Refresh `decision-state.json`** (stale since 2026-05-27).
• **Audit and clean `semantic-memory.json` garbage entries**.
• **Fix stale model identity in `continuity-summary.txt`** (source helper, not direct edit of generated summary).
• **Harden `directed/index.json` update helper** to skip resolved/obsolete source reports when repopulating `notices.jsonl`.
• **Context guard warning** remains open; no reset needed yet, monitor as usage approaches 85% handoff threshold.
• `matrix_lite_status_*` native status tools not exposed through the extended-tools proxy.
• `Read` denied for external `/home/matrix-lite/state/*.jsonl` files (`turns.jsonl`, `observability.jsonl`, `approvals.json`) and timers.
• `bash` redirect patterns denied (e.g., `2>&1`), limiting non-mutating diagnostics.
• Synthesis worker runs on `kimi-for-coding/k2p6` while live persistent-chat session is `kimi-for-coding/k2p7`.
• The recurring `partial-success` heartbeat is a false-negative that could mask a real failure if it coincides with an actual curation error. Consider:
- allowing the curator direct Edit access to its own source artifacts, or
- teaching the wrapper to treat "command returned non-zero, but curated memory changed" as success when the journal and memory files are sane.
• The `directed/index.json` repopulation bug is the most persistent source of notice noise. Filtering on `status != resolved` and deduplicating by `(source_report, title)` before writing to `notices.jsonl` would close it.
None this cycle. Durable facts (hostel eviction, housing urgency, Google HM call scheduling, 2026-07-01 communication preference) are already in curated-memory.md.
